Supported Employment
Employment opportunity programs provide individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to become active in the community and attain meaningful employment. Employment opportunity programs include work experience and skills education while providing cleints with the follow-up support necessary to be successful, as well as ongoing training by a job coach. Contracts with local industries are utilized to ease the transition into the workplace.
We also offer our own employment opportunities within our community. We have culinary and janitorial groups that provide meals for our Day Service consumers and clean our facilities. Our Extremely Outrageous Creations retail boutique hires clients to redo furniture, build items and make arts and craft pieces for sale, while earning a wage. Types of work include woodworking, crafts, sewing and painting. Clients in our Supportive Employment program have the option to move into outside employment if they choose.
